Our church actively pursues the Biblical call to make disciples for Jesus Christ and to take care of widows, orphans, and the less fortunate in our community. We seek to spiritually, physically, and financially support local organizations and individuals in need as is our Christian duty. Some organizations Mt. Zion members support include:
-
- Gideons – The Gideons are dedicated to telling people about Jesus through service, personal testimonies, and by providing Bibles and New Testaments to those who want them and to those who may not know they need them.
- Habersham Christian Learning Center – A non-denominational, non-profit, community-based educational service organization. HCLC teaches Christian ethics, morals, and values to high school students during their school day by sharing God’s truths in love for passion and purpose throughout life. No tax money is used and classes are offered free of charge.
- The Lord’s Help Soup Kitchen – A ministry that provides hot meals to those in our community in need.
- The Sharing and Caring Place – A Christian ministry staffed by volunteers that helps to meet the needs of the poor, the hungry, the abused, and the oppressed in Habersham County.
- United Methodist Children’s Home – The United Methodist Children’s Home is dedicated to serving children and families in a ‘continuum of care’ model to those in need.
- Wesley Woods – Wesley Woods seeks to help people age with grace by providing comfortable retirement communities that emphasize wellness, socialization, education, and personal and spiritual fulfillment for their residents.
- SAVING Habersham – SAVING Habersham is a coalition of community volunteers comprised of educators, law enforcement, and other professionals whose mission is to rescue our community from the social breakdown caused by substance abuse and violence offering education, intervention and advocacy.
